Discussion on Dating Expectations and Costs
Saw a guy in here talking about the fact that he was supposed to be taking this
woman on a date, and essentially she reaches out to him
and she's like, "Hey, I
gotta get my nails and my hair done for the date.
Um, so basically, if you could send the money for that."
And he
was like, "Mm, respectfully, I am not that person.
Like, I'm not about to pay for your maintenance,
your,
like...
What you... I'm not about to pay for that, for you to go on a date with me, and
then pay for you to be on a date. Like, this is a first date.
Are we serious?" And he was thrown.
And here's the thing, I'm thrown too.
I'm, I'm wondering where women are finding all this audacity.
Um,
I'm also wondering why your regular maintenance that women are
vocal about not wanting to pay $150 for
their nails because it's absurd, and these nail techs
are just crazy to be charging
these prices, and why is my hair costing $700?
Y'all come out here and you complain about the prices
when it...
you're supposed to be paying it, and then you go on dates with men where
you
know they're gonna be paying all this money for you to go on dates because
you've
set the standard to say, "I'm not going on a coffee date.
I'm not going to walk around at a park.
I'm not doing any of that." So now the expectation is they have to come
out $100, $200 at least, to feed you,
and you may not even be coming back for a second date.
They may get there and realize they don't actually like you.
Um, but now you also want them to come out of
$150 for nails, and hundreds of dollars to get
your hair done for one evening and a few hours to spend some time
with you, and maybe never see you again.
But now you got your stuff set for the next date?
For the next three weeks? For the next month with your
hair? Like, what... How do these things even make sense?
Now, I wanna ask you this question.
If the shoe was on the other foot,
do you think that you would be willing to pay for someone to
go on a date with you? And I ask this question because I don't
think some of
y'all actually... Like, maybe it makes sense
when you're saying it in your head or
when you're watching other women tell you that that's a
thing. But it can't really feel good to be
asking men for money in order to pay for your
regular maintenance. Like, it can't feel good
