Discussion on LGBTQ Rights and Islam
I'm a gay guy that lives in Michigan that's reading the Quran,
and the reason I'm
reading this is because I've been called Islamophobic by people in the gay
community because I've expressed genuine concern over the state of how
gays and women are treated in Islamic-dominated countries.
I genuinely do not understand how somebody could look at a
place that's Muslim-dominated and say that they want that here,
especially as a gay man. It makes no sense.
It's not like a, it's not like a hatred thing.
It's not like a political argument.
It's like those are not conditions that would be conducive to the way
that I wanna
live my life here, and any gay person who's literally at a
gay bar when
having this argument can agree if there's any logical brain power being
activated whatsoever in that conversation.
And I just wanna preface this one more time.
I do not care what religion you practice, what skin color, anything that goes on
for you, I do not care. But you should not and cannot use
that to infringe on
my right to be who I am, as long as we're not being violent towards
each other,
right? So that's what America's all about, and it's a great country.
Like, we're very, very lucky to be here.
So, uh, I just don't get what the gays are thinking.
They're like literally they've lost it. They have lost it.
They've always been kind of too far left for me to be crazy, but they're like
actually mentally ill. This is like a mental illness at this point,
that these gays
are so in support of something that's so obviously bad for them.
I just can't-- I, I cannot understand. It's just a lot. It's making me go crazy.
So anyways, I'm reading the Quran, and most likely I'm gonna agree with like
ninety
percent of what's in this because, like all religious texts,
most of it's very
true, and it's probably almost all true if you read it in the correct lens,
understanding that religions are written in metaphors
and using deep symbolism.
If I'm taking this very literal at face value, I'm gonna miss a lot of the actual
messages, just like you'd miss it in the Bible,
you know, or any other big
religious text.
It's good to see that some gays in America
are finally starting to wake up to
Islam and Muslims and what that ideology teaches.
And what he says is actually perfect.
He says that the gay community who supports this and is backing
Muslims and Islam is actually mentally ill.
He's-- He says it's so crazy that it is actually a mental
illness, and that is what conservatives have been
saying this entire time.
When gay people back Islam, it is literally a mental illness because it
is
so crazy. It is a chickens for KFC kind of moment.
And here are the list of Muslim countries, and every single one of these will put
you to death if you are gay. Some of the methods are extreme,
like public
stoning. You have Iran, Saudi Arabia, this is
stoning. Yemen, death by stoning.
Afghanistan. You have Nigeria. Nigeria
has a death penalty or flogging under Sharia.
Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Somalia even has the death
penalty being possible if you are gay.
Pakistan, and then you have a whole list of other
Muslim
countries that will also do imprisonment, sometimes for life,
flogging and other additional punishments.
Those are Egypt, Bangladesh, and you can kind of read these at your own
pace.
But again, a gay person in America that supports Islam or Muslims,
this is what you are supporting, and this is what you're supporting
implementing
because this is not some historical thing that went on.
This is going on right now in those countries.
You can literally be put to death if you are gay.
