Discussion on Prayer and Faith
Could start this off with a prayer.
Good.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour
of our death. Amen.
You said that prayer right before you engaged two of the
attackers. You could have said any prayer. You could have made up a prayer.
You could have just talked to God. Why did you choose the Hail Mary?
It was a quick reaction. That was the first thing that sprung to mind.
And even from my journey becoming a Catholic,
I've always seemed to have had a very
strong connection to our Blessed Lady.
And Father Anthony, who was my mentor, he highlighted that.
He said this good story. Anglican vicar said to a Catholic priest,
"You all seem to
be going on a lot about the Virgin Mary.
What's gonna happen if you go to heaven and Jesus
is just stood there?
What do you think is gonna be said?" The Catholic priest said, "What I hope he
says, 'My mother's told me so much about you,
and I'm so pleased to meet you.'"
I love that.
