Controversial Statements on Israel and Palestine
Was it said by a Nazi or a Zionist?
Let's find out. "Now we all have one common goal,
erasing them from the face of the earth.
Those who are unable will be replaced." Was it a Nazi or a
Zionist?
It was a Zionist. That was Nissim Vaturi, deputy speaker of the Israeli
Knesset and member of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee in a social media
post on October seventh, twenty twenty-three.
"They are beasts walking on two legs."
That was Menahem Begin, former prime minister of Israel,
in a speech to
the Knesset on June twenty-fifth, nineteen eighty-two.
"Now terror will be answered with terror."
That was Adolf Hitler on March twenty-eighth, nineteen forty-two.
"The army must find ways more painful than death.
Killing them is not enough."
That was Amihai Ben-Eliahu, Israeli heritage minister.
"We are the people of the light. They are the people of
darkness."
That was Benjamin Netanyahu, prime minister of Israel, on October
twenty-fifth, twenty twenty-three.
"They must be exterminated, all of them killed.
We will flatten them, turn them to dust, and the army will cleanse the area."
That was Dani Numan, Israeli sports commentator
and former member of the Knesset
during a TV interview on December thirteenth, twenty twenty-three.
"The woman is an enemy. The baby is an enemy.
The pregnant woman is an enemy."
That was Eliyahu Yossian, Israeli analyst, during a TV interview on
December thirtieth, twenty twenty-three. How are we doing?
How are we doing so far? Let's keep going.
"One of our lives is worth more than ten million of their lives."
That was Yehuda Shimon, Israeli settler leader.
"There should be no doubt in your mind that we are fighting with the oldest
enemies that our people have had for thousands of years."
That was Heinrich Himmler, Nazi leader and one of the main architects of the
Holocaust. "I vow that I'll burn every child
that will be born in this
area. The woman and child is more dangerous than the man because the
child's
existence infers that generations will go on,
but the man causes
limited danger."
That was Ariel Sharon, Israeli general and the future prime minister of Israel,
in
an interview with a general in nineteen fifty-six.
"We need to be eliminating thirty to forty people there every day.
They shouldn't live. They're not even people."
That was Ben-Gvir, Israeli national security minister in
August twenty
twenty-six. "The old ones will pass.
They will bear their fate, or they will not.
They were dust, economic and moral dust in a cruel world.
Only the branch of the young shall survive.
They have to accept it."
That was said by Chaim Weizmann, the first president of Israel, and it's
interesting because he wasn't talking about Palestinians.
He was talking about Jewish people because as they established the Zionist
state, they wanted young and able-bodied people to fight on
behalf of the new state, even if it meant turning away
refugees from the Holocaust, which they did.
They turned away Holocaust refugees, leading to their deaths,
and failed to save others when they had the opportunity.
Well, how did you do? Let me know. And as always, free
Palestine.
