Discussion on Healthcare and Politics
Acknowledging that people making less than a million dollars could see their taxes
go up. I just want to be very clear. Is that a yes?
I'm saying that we'd be paying for healthcare in a different way.
Are you in favor of, uh, public ownership models like the one
Bernie introduced?
So I wanna actually take it a step further.
Okay.
I agree that we need public ownership, but I also agree
that we need some system of
public control. Do police really need to use guns?
Do we need as much
of a police force?
James, do, do police really need to use guns?
I mean, some of this, this stuff is really crazy.
You were just talking about this. Give me your take though on that race
overall and the general temperature in the Midwest.
Uh, I think that race is going very well for Mike Rogers.
Mike Rogers is a mainstream Republican who wants to do things like get the cost of
prescription drugs down, something that President Trump has led the charge on
for
the last year and a half and has s- has had success at, and Mike Rogers wants
to finish that job and codify it. In fact, just this past week, the Washington Post
of all places, uh, a, an outlet that is very reticent to give Republicans
credit for anything, pointed out that we just saw the largest drop in
prescription drug prices in over 60 years in this country.
Wow.
The fact is we're making progress, and we know we have more work to do.
We wanna finish the job. Meanwhile, you have a guy like El-Sayed who says,
"Look,
we're gonna raise your taxes, and we're gonna take away all your private
health
insurance." I mean, right now there's a gentleman from the
UAW, you know, the
large auto workers union there in Michigan, making the rounds saying,
"I don't want
you to take away my health insurance. I have good health insurance.
Why would you do that?" So it really comes down to, uh, moving
forward the policies that have been working,
but we need to finish the task on,
or putting Democrats in charge, uh, who not only wanna take us
backwards, wanna take us to really extreme far left
areas,
uh, that have never worked anywhere in the
world, but certainly are not gonna work
in this country.
