6G Technology and Privacy Concerns
And read heartbeats. Germany already issued a formal privacy
warning. This is not science fiction.
Researchers confirm that 6G will include a built-in
technology called ISAC, Integrated Sensing and
Communication, that turns every antenna
and base station into a
radar system. It detects people through walls,
measures breathing,
monitors heartbeats, and with machine learning, identifies
individuals by the way they walk. No camera, no wearable, no
permission required. Germany's Data Protection Conference
issued a formal
warning in June, calling ISAC comparable to invisible video
surveillance with significantly broader capabilities.
Here is what makes this different from every privacy concern before it.
You cannot opt out. You do not need to carry a phone.
Anyone within range gets scanned, whether they know it or not.
The legitimate uses are real. Disaster rescue, patient monitoring,
elderly care. But every 6G base station also becomes a
passive radar tracking anyone within its range without
cooperation, without consent. 5G was about speed.
6G is about sensing everything around it. Follow and tell me.
