Canada's Priorities Amid Global Assistance

When does Canada come first? We are tired of coming last in our own

country.

Canadians are sleeping in tents while governments announce billions of

dollars for

priorities around the world.

And yesterday, we were given another extraordinary example.

Prime Minister Mark Carney and President Volodymyr Zelensky announced

a

one hundred-year partnership between Canada and the Ukraine.

One hundred years.

Canada has already committed more than $25.5 billion

in assistance to Ukraine since 2022,

including more than $8.5 billion in military assistance.

And yesterday, another $350 million was

announced for Ukraine's air defense.

I understand that Ukraine is fighting a war,

but I represent Canadians who are

fighting to pay their mortgages, buy groceries, find a doctor,

and keep roofs over their heads. So before Canadian taxpayers

are asked to make

commitments stretching generations into the future, who asks them, "When

does Canada come first?"
