Understanding Vitamins and Their Effects
One of the craziest things that I had to unlearn, uh, as a biochemist
is that vitamins aren't real. All right?
Let me explain this one because there is some nuance here.
What we call a vitamin, an isolated chemical like vitamin C,
ascorbic acid,
right, or, uh, vitamin D, vitamin K,
all of these are isolated compounds.
The first problem here with the use of the scientific method is that
nothing in nature exists in isolation.
And so when we isolate something,
we have to adulterate the sample, right?
So to think how we initially isolated vitamin C, all vitamins
truly, they're like eighteen, twenty-step processes
where we have to add heavy metals, petroleum,
acetone, ethers, tons of chemicals that are completely
synthetic and extremely harmful.
And so we actually lack the scientific control,
right? We don't control for every method used in
the isolation
of these so-called vitamins. And then when we get to the endpoint, when
you read these original papers, which I've done,
and they're all available, I...
you know, publicly, and you can read my interpretation in the
academy that I run.
When you read them, they take, you know, five or six end products, and they test
them on different animals and eventually humans,
and they decide which one has
the greatest effect in the body. And so they test them like pharmaceutical
drugs, right? So pharmaceutical drugs don't exist in
nature,
and vitamins take on the exact same process as
pharmaceutical drugs. They act the same in the body.
They're isolated the same way in the same labs using the same chemicals.
You even add petroleum.
So
vitamins are just greenwash pharmaceutical drugs.
They act the same completely. So avoid them at all costs.
Right? There's something in food that we need, but the whole
is always greater than
the parts. Right? Eating the whole food, you're guaranteed to not have anything
adulterated. So if you do take a supplement,
make sure that it's a whole food,
right? You can put a whole food in a capsule,
and it doesn't not make it a whole
food. But again, your relationship with these things
is really important, right?
Like, your relationship with medicine or supplements can even be more
important than the medicine or the supplement themselves, right,
because our
relationship, our beliefs are so powerful. So keep that in mind.
But again, if you wanna learn more, comment "vitamins" down below.
