FIFA Apology and Potential Match Replay

FIFA will apologise to Norway following the

ball hitting a camera cable in the build up to Jude Bellingham's extra time goal.

With it being suggested that if Norway launch an appeal,

the game may have to be replayed due to the clear and obvious error.

FIFA have stated that the match should have been stopped immediately following the

ball hitting the cable,

and if it had not been spotted by the referee,

VAR should have intervened and ruled out the goal,

and the decision should have been a retake of the goal kick.

Due to the ball hitting a foreign object and it not being a

decision that is up to opinion,

Norway have a clear case to have the match replayed,

and it could take place on Monday evening where there is a free

slot with no games on.

Norway plan to submit their

appeal with immediate effect and expect FIFA to respond before Sunday evening.

But both teams are expected to be told to prepare to play the fixture

again with it looking more likely than not due to FIFA rulings.
