Understanding Self-Narratives and Perception
The research shows the story you tell yourself about yourself is
self-creating.
Meaning, if you tell yourself that you attract good things and you
are very lucky, you are more likely to see the world through a
luck
frame.
Yes.
And what
I really
have been thinking about a lot with this research was this is not about the facts
of your life, it's about the frames of your life.
Mm.
How do you see the facts of your life?
Yes.
When you begin to think about, "How am I interpreting the facts of my
life?
How is my partner? How is my kid? How is my parent?
How is my colleague?" You begin to see patterns, and
this is the whole reason I wrote it, is if we can truly see
people for the patterns that they are repeating over and over again, we are
truly understanding them. We are truly seeing them for who they are.
And if they wanna change it, the only way to change your
self-narrative,
really the only way,
is through conversation.
Really?
