Chile’s Barros Welcomes US Leadership Against Cartels

Mr. Barros of Chile, you have the floor.

Thanks. Good morning. Thanks Secretary Hecht and General Donovan,

and thanks to all of them who had create the initiative of this great meeting.

Uh, it's great to see the government of the United States of America

leading the war against cartels, illegal immigration, and many social diseases

our countries are suffering today.

Uh, let me respectfully say:

Welcome back.

Uh, it's very good for us to see we have the States back again.

And this conference and this meeting and we are getting together, we are joining,

uh, because there's a great threat in cartels and other criminals.

Uh, why? Because they hurt our societies.

They create poverty, they create pain, they create weakness in our countries.

They act against the law.

That's a great issue. That's why we go against them.

It's acts against the law approved democratically in our nation.
