offsides rule you'd know the second to last rule where if you are closer to the goal than the second

to last defender you are offsides and the last defender is typically the goalie but now that

goalie is in front of three defenders the last defender becomes a field player. Keep this in

mind for the rest of this explanation. So the ball that the goalie punches happens to land on an

Iranian player's feet to which the goalie scrambles to get back to the goal line to protect the goal

but by the time the Iranian player kicks the ball the goalie still has two defenders his own

defenders as the last line of defense meaning this guy is the last defender where typically would

be the goalie and this guy is the second to last defender meaning when this ball was kicked this

Iranian player was offsides when looking at this second to last defender and the insane thing about

this is that he was offsides by a literal toe. This breaks my heart for the Iranian team considering

the mental physical and emotional toll they have been going through via the United States dehumanization

of their team making them have to travel outside the U.S. to Mexico after every single match when

all other teams could just stay in the same town they played in in order to rest and recuperate

after their games and I'm not saying I wanted Egypt to lose. Do I want Egypt's government to

lose? Absolutely but their team? No not really but I really wanted Iran to go through and with a win

they would have done it. They're still not out but they need some miracles to happen in the games

tomorrow to ensure that they go through so let's hope that happens. Anyways great game and I'm
