Impact of Kiwi on Skin Health
This study is crazy. They found that eating two kiwis a
day for eight weeks increased skin
density by forty-eight percent. You'll see it right
there. You'll see-- Look, look, before they ate the kiwi,
the skin density was, eh, average.
They ate the kiwi fruit, and you can see it, it's visibly
much thicker under the microscope.
And it also increased skin cell regeneration
by thirty percent. You'll see here before, before they ate
the kiwi, there was not that many, uh,
Ki-67 markers it's called, which is an indicator
of epidermal cell proliferation.
There wasn't much before. Then they ate the kiwi for eight weeks,
and you'll see all of those markers the-- in
this slide here indicate, uh, rapidly
proliferating, uh, epidermal cells, and so it
was regenerating at a faster rate.
And this is because the researchers found that the dietary
vitamin C from the kiwis, it was about two hundred and fifty
milligrams from two kiwis, that b-- vitamin C goes straight
from the bloodstream into the skin, right?
It gets right in there, and that appears to be the mechanism behind
how this
happens
