911 Dispatcher Reflects on Job Challenges

I didn't feel like working that day.

That was Crenshonda Latrice Williams,

23 years old, 18 months on the job

as a 911 dispatcher for Harris County, Texas.

And in that moment,

sitting at her console on the fifth floor

of the Emergency Communications Center on Travis Street in downtown Houston,

she had just admitted to failing
