Ukraine's Anti-Corruption Bureau Seeks Help from Israel
Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau, NABU, has formally requested
assistance from Israel's Ministry of Justice regarding Timur Mindich, a
longtime associate of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Mindich stands accused of orchestrating a large-scale corruption scheme in
Ukraine's energy sector worth approximately one hundred million dollars.
According to investigators, he fled Ukraine shortly before NABU
conducted raids on
his properties in November 2025. The investigators claim that
Mindich departed for Israel aboard a private jet carrying eight hundred
kilograms of gold, along with at least seventeen million
dollars in cash.
In the request to Israel's Ministry of Justice, NABU seeks help to locate the
aircraft and the assets, which they consider key evidence in the
ongoing
case. Mindich holds dual Ukrainian and Israeli citizenship.
He has not been detained and is believed to be in Israel.
The developments come amid a broader wave of high-level anti-corruption scrutiny
surrounding individuals close to the president of Ukraine.
On May twelfth, Andriy Yermak, a former top aide to Zelenskyy and one of
his closest allies, appeared in court after being named a
suspect in a separate
money-laundering scheme.
