Implications of Quantum Computing on Privacy

They call it Q-Day, but it sounds more like Armageddon.

What is Q-Day, and should we be worried about it?

The Q is for quantum, as in quantum computing.

And Q-Day is the day when these powerful machines will be able to

break the sophisticated cryptography on which our modern life relies.

used in everything from banking transactions to government IDs.

And apparently Q-Day may be drawing near.

So they're intentionally trying to create a technology that will end the very concept

of privacy.

No more secrets.

No way to hide anything.

And you're not going to believe when it's coming.

Google and IBM both say they will have useful quantum computing machines by 2030.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai said in December that quantum computing was where maybe AI

was 5 years ago.

Why do you think every scary technology is coming in 2030?

About 6G earlier, which is around 2030, I would say that by then, definitely the smartphone as we

know it today will not anymore be the usual, kind of the most common interface.

Many of these things will be built directly into our bodies.

Is it a coincidence or just part of the script?
