Investigation into Israeli Soldier Actions

This photograph was supposed to be proof that Israeli soldiers were

helping civilians evacuate dangerous areas in the Gaza Strip, but

an investigation into its backstory later revealed that this

very same unit of soldiers executed her with a

gunshot to the head. According to witnessing soldier testimony

compiled by Israeli outlet HaMokom, the wheelchair-bound woman,

who was unable to follow Israeli evacuation orders due to her frail

condition, was handcuffed and blindfolded shortly after this

photo was taken. And although soldiers initially planned to

transport her

north via supply convoy out of Rafah, after receiving a phone call,

a military officer in the unit pulled her out of their truck and shot

her dead. The same officer was then promoted shortly

after. In a testament to the sick and backwards morality of Israeli

society, one of the witnessing soldiers who spoke

with HaMokom

condemned the execution because, unlike demolishing

Palestinian homes and using Palestinian human shields, the

killing served no strategic purpose
