Discussion on Catholic Theology and SSPX
says everyone should watch Robert Sisko and John Salvo tried answers.
They exposed the heresies of Marcel Lefebvre and the SSPX.
Um, for those of you that don't know, see if I have their book around. I don't.
Uh, Robert Sisko and
John Salvo wrote a excellent book several years ago called true Pope, false Pope.
And I've read the whole book and I've gone back and use it as a reference work.
It is the best book that I know of most exhaustive book.
It's a thick book on the topic of set of econtism.
What's interesting about that book. And I might, this is me going off memory.
I believe that book was published by the SSPX or by Angeles press.
Um, by Cisco and Salsa later,
Cisco and Salsa no longer supported the society of St. Pius the 10th.
I don't know the full story here. All right.
I'm kind of piecing things together, but I
think this is probably what happened, but I could be wrong.
I should probably reach out to Robert and John and ask them about this
or SSPX people, Angeles press people.
But it seems that when Cisco
and Salsa wrote true Pope, false Pope,
they made a lot of important distinctions, right?
It is in many ways,
a scholastic approach and it took a lot of research.
It's I'm a writer and reading the true Pope, false Pope.
Like that took a lot of work from those men.
Once they made those distinctions.
However, they began to apply it to the traditional movement.
And in particular, the society of St. Pius the 10th.
And I think what they've realized or what they did realize over time was the
principles of Sedebe Kantism,
or you might even say the Casa Chiacum thesis,
where you can say, well, there's materially a Pope, but formally he's not the Pope.
And so we can recognize a material hierarchy,
but we're not going to obey anything since 1962.
That practically speaking,
the SSPX leans in that direction, right?
Again, I'm just speculating here. I don't know.
I've never, I've never gone on the phone and talked to Robert or John. I don't know.
And so what happened is, is eventually they moved away, even from the SSPX.
All right. Not just Sedebe Kantism, but from the SSPX.
So, um, there you go.
I don't think, I don't know of a
book that they've written on the SSPX, but I do know that their book on.
