Cultural Differences in Train Travel
My friend just recently moved from Germany to Poland and he told me about
one big thing that he noticed
which was shocking to him.
And that is,
in Germany,
when you're riding the train,
I haven't been riding the train for a long time, right?
Like, I'm just going by helicopter usually.
But in Germany, if you're riding the train,
sometimes, you know,
you stand in the train and then new people come in.
What you see some Germans doing that are standing in the train is,
you know, they have like their backpack here.
They take it to the front, you know?
So they're like securing their backpack, you know?
And my friend said, in Poland, nobody does that.
Like, everybody's so relaxed.
They're just standing in the bus or in the train and they're so chill, you know?
New people come in,
there's this like level of trust, you know, that you know, okay, society,
you can trust it more or less. And he was shocked by that.
