Historical Analysis of Jesus's Teachings
Christianity today is not what Jesus actually
taught. Jesus did not create imperial
Christianity. Jesus taught the kingdom of
God, and Rome turned Christianity into
imperial order. In 30 AD, Jesus is
crucified by Rome for being a threat
to authority. From 40 to 60 AD, Paul
starts to spread Jesus's message beyond Judaism,
but Paul didn't know Jesus directly, and so
the message starts to shift from follow Jesus
to believe the correct things about Jesus.
In 64 AD, Rome starts to persecute
Christians who do not follow the Roman Empire.
These are the true Christians. In 303 to
311 AD, the Great Persecution happens.
This is where imperial edicts strip
Christians of their legal rights.
They targeted scriptures and churches, and they
persecuted Christians to comply with traditional
Roman religious practices. In 313 AD,
Constantine legalizes Christianity inside the Roman
Empire, and it goes from being a persecuted
movement to a
protected religion. But this is where things really start to shift.
In 325 AD, Constantine calls the Council of
Nicaea, and the council decides what about
Christianity is orthodox, fits with the Roman
Empire, and what is hearsay. And this is where
Jesus's actual teachings are really starting to be
left out. Then, in 380 AD, Nicaean Christianity
becomes the official religion of Rome, and Christianity goes from
being a spiritual path to a state religion.
And in 392 AD and onwards, Rome begins to
suppress other religions and other forms of Christianity.
As you can see from this historical context, Jesus's actual
teachings are not what is instilled in
traditional Christianity. Rome took Jesus's teachings
and made them into religious dogmas, and those that
spread Jesus's messages were not the ones that
actually knew him. Jesus's true teachings of being one
with God, loving your brothers and sisters as yourself,
and knowing that the kingdom of heaven is within you is
not what traditional Christianity teaches, because it is
based upon an empire that used the
religion to create an indoctrinated
system to ultimately form control.
Jesus did not come to Earth to try and
start a religion. This is what he actually came for.
Jesus's followers were called The Way, meaning
that they were following a path. And one of Jesus's
main messages was that the kingdom of heaven is
within you. He would repeatedly refer to
God and heaven is within you. And what Jesus was doing
was he was teaching the path of God, and he was
showing people how to walk with God.
But what happened was that religions were formed
after his death and distorted his teachings.
They used them to have control over people.
They taught you to worship Jesus so that you would always
feel less than. And here's the thing.
While Jesus was alive, he challenged religions that
were using fear and rules, like the Pharisees,
instead of love. So Jesus was actually against
religion, and then religions were created to try and
distort Jesus's message to have control over people.
Jesus was here to show you the path of God and to show you that God
lives within each and every single one of us.
So the more that we can move away from religious dogma
and actually get to the true message, we will start to recognize
that we are one, we are together, and God lives
within us.
