Navigating Therapist Transitions and Emotions
Guess who's losing another therapist?
It's almost been one year since I lost my therapist of seven years,
and today, my new therapist told me that she's leaving
and going to work at the local college to see college students.
So, um, I have a lot of feelings.
I think the biggest feeling is fear.
After losing my therapist of seven years,
I felt, like, frozen in time for a while.
And within the past few months, I feel like I'm finally starting to... Breathe again.
I feel like I contribute that a lot to This new therapist and
How supported I feel like actually supported and she just kind of understands me
In a way that no one has before
I feel scared
To lose Her and The good news is that
This isn't gonna be sudden my last therapist
The ending was really sudden, and I didn't get to process it,
and I felt really abandoned.
And this therapist isn't leaving until late July,
so I have time to process it with her, and she's going to help me find someone.
I'm happy for that, but I think I just feel really defeated,
and I don't want to tell someone new everything.
I'm still telling this one everything.
I feel like none of this is fair.
and i worked so hard to leave my first one
and now i'm losing this one too
and i think i'm just gonna spend my whole life losing people
i don't want to spend my whole life losing people that i love
and i thought i was really doing really good about not getting attached to this therapist
clearly that's not the case so i don't really know what to do
I just don't want to go through this again,
just to probably go through it again and again and again, and I wish my brain would just stop caring about connections with
people. I don't know how to not let this affect me.
I'm so tired of being sad.
