Discussion on Discrimination and Politics
many young men are, are, you know, kind of responding to is that they,
there's
so many pressures now on that labor market that just didn't
exist when a lot of those tone deaf Republicans that you mentioned-
Right
... when they were coming up, when they were getting involved in
politics.
And it, it's just a different world in so many
ways.
And yeah, you know, you can talk about the generational gap,
but it actually is
true. The world has changed a lot.
It's changed a whole lot. And I mean, look, one of the things that,
that changed,
has changed a whole lot, um, for a long time for the worse
and now for the
better, is that we institutionalized
anti-white, anti-male discrimination in this country.
I mean, if, if you just look at the way
that we spoke about white men in the
United States of America, not me obviously, not the president,
but like Joe
Biden, like it's actually amazing-
Well, I mean, that being said, you know, you did call them a bunch of hillbillies.
Saying something.
No, I said I'm a hillbilly.
Hey, hey.
I'm proud of that, man.
Right. Right.
And, and yeah, like the hillbillies are a part of the coalition,
but we're a proud
part of the coalition, and I don't think we, we don't,
we don't shy away from that
term. But look man, you, you institutionalized for a very
long time a way of talking about our fellow Americans that
was totally disgusting. And I was actually talking with a friend of
mine, uh,
about this, and he was like, "If you look at the way the Biden
administration
discriminated against people in job applications, college applications,
the way that we just allowed explicitly racist
discrimination against our laws to become part of the normal practice
of our government, of our admissions policies,
of our private corporations," like
it's kind of insane that we didn't have like a revolution
in this country. Uh, we explicitly discriminated
against people, and it's one of the things
that I'm proudest of in the Trump
administration. Again, there's a lot more work to do,
but like we're not
discriminating against people, Black or white,
based on the color of their skin in
job applications. You're- we're telling the universities,
"You're not allowed to
discriminate against white guys, against dudes,
against anyone." We don't want
discrimination against anybody, but we, we did allow that discrimination in this
country for a long time. So what I would tell like young men who
are pissed off is
you should absolutely be advocating for more.
You should absolutely be demanding more.
But I would also recognize the wins because they are out there.
Mr. Vice President, thank you so much.
Good to see you, Jack.
