Iran's Perspective on US Reliability
It is a general belief
that has been
supported by evidence that the United States is completely unreliable.
The MOU from the very beginning in our conversations,
we've always been saying that the United States
will probably not carry out any of its obligations and
ultimately that's exactly what happened and this is all based
upon Iran's past experiences with the United States and not just Iran.
Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan,
across the region and across the world,
the United States is a completely unreliable regime that is always dishonest and
I think that the MOU in its current form is not going to be enough anymore for Iran.
In the future, if there's ever going to be an agreement,
the Iranians will make more demands which will include Yemen,
which will include Gaza,
and which will have much more
immediate demands that the United States would have to fulfill before
any agreement comes into play.
Assuming that we get there at some point,
the Iranians, I think that they have been very smart.
They've showed the
international community that they are
seeking a peaceful resolution and they've also shown to the
international community that the United States is not only an aggressive regime,
but when it comes to the negotiating table, it is unreliable,
untrustworthy, and utterly dishonest.
This enhances Iran's position because both at home and abroad,
people see that it is the United States as the aggressor once again.
