Understanding the Voices in the Mind
There are three voices in the human mind, and the last one helps you get closer to
God. The first voice is the voice of the ego, the one
that says, "I am,
I want, I need." The second voice is that accusing voice we have.
"Why did you do that? You're an idiot."
But beneath both of these voices,
there is a much quieter voice, and that still, small voice is the
voice of the higher will, the higher spiritual self
or the guidance of God,
whatever you want to call it. And that voice helps you
overcome your lower nature. It is the still, small voice that
tells you what's right and wrong at all times.
We know it's there, but sometimes we take actions against it.
And that's why the line in that clip that we just saw is very important.
It says, "I have overcome my nature through
meditation and long
study of the way of the voice." Because the real work is learning
to recognize which voice in your mind is operating your mind, body, and your
life. And when life actions and decisions become aligned with
that higher voice, the lower nature gradually loses its
authority over your actions and your life.
