Discussion on Esav and Yaakov's Legacy
Things are in the world is if Esav and Ishmael ever came
together, if they ever united. Says the Gerah, if Edom and
Ishmael ever united, they would destroy the world.
You can never mix Qayin and Hevel together.
And that's why we wish both of these ummahis in their war against each other,
bracha v'hatzlacha. My message to both of them
is we wish both of them tremendous
hatslacha. They should wipe each other out,
not other Jews out.
Both sides should not be matzliach as much as us.
We wish both sides tremendous, tremendous hatslacha in their avoda of
wiping out the other party. The origins of Christianity and
how it wasn't an accident, but it was a gift,
possibly a mistaken gift, that Yaakov Avinu
gave Esav. You will live by the sword.
You will serve your brother. This is what Yitzchak tells Esav.
Yitzchak tells Esav, you'll live by the sword.
You'll serve your brother.
Literally, that means that, you know, the Jews will have
the shul, will have the house. And if you need someone to clean it,
you call one of
Esav's descendants to clean it. What is the meaning that Esav
hated Yaakov because of the bracha?
Again, we translate it literally. You will serve your brother.
The word tavoid serve has another meaning as well.
You will worship Hashem. What does avoida mean?
Avoida means service, but avoida means worship also.
And this is the prophecy of Yitzchak Avinu, that the Christian
world will worship Klal Yisrael as their gods.
Verav yaavod soyer.
And the older brother not will serve the younger brother.
The older brother will worship the younger brother as a
religion. That Shem predicted from the beginning of
time that Esav will worship a Jew as their
religion. That's the nevuah of Yitzchak Avinu.
That's the nevuah of Shem. What an astounding nevuah.
And if you want to know why Esav hates Yaakov, it's not because we're socialist,
capitalist, Bundist, Yiddishist.
The Esav hates Yaakov because they suffer from
a lack of identity and self-confidence in that they have
to worship us.
That's the root of anti-Semitism, says Rabbi Moshe Dovid Vald.
