Polish military spending and national security: Turkey as an example

Only the Confederation of the Polish Crown allows itself to, to, uh, a note of healthy, independence- minded skepticism and only we say: only Polish soldiers on Polish soil.

Only the Polish armed forces are ultimately the sole guarantor, uh, of national security, and of both external and internal security.

Both at the borders and on the streets. And that's why what will be decisive is not how much money your American comrades graciously allow you to spend on this, so that we can fund bases, and thus food, and lodging, uh, a livelihood for the families of those workers and uniformed personnel,

and civilians who would come here. How much money we spend on this, uh, is not the question that will determine our security.

What will determine our security is this: uh, once again, not even so much how much money we spend, because we're already spending quite a lot.

Between you and me, we're spending sums way beyond our means, astronomical sums, comparable to what Turkey spends, notes MP Włodzimierz Skalik.

We're spending sums on our military comparable to the Turks.

Well, yes, but there are twice as many Turks as there are Poles.

And the Turkish army evidently, uh, uses those funds more effectively, because it's the only one on the European continent.

Uh, that's a paradox, because Turkey is mostly an Asian country, after all, Asia Minor, uh, but it still has one foot on the European continent.

And Turkey is the only serious army here, that can compare itself, well, with serious, uh, players.

So somehow they spend that money differently.

And we, the Confederation of the Polish Crown, would like to, so that money for the Polish Army would be spent more wisely.
