Yemen Conflict and Saudi-Israel Relations

As the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement has captured the entire shoreline

in the Red Sea, and hence Bab el-Mandeb, the strategic water gate, the

Israeli Yedioth Ahronoth and Axios have alleged that

Israel is already providing Saudi Arabia with

intelligence assistance amid the escalation with the Yemeni

Ansar Allah movement. According to these Israeli sources,

the assistance is

being transferred to Riyadh through the

CENTCOM, the American military Central Command,

and doesn't involve

operational support or direct Israeli participation in the

fighting. According to the sources of the Israeli

press, Washington

seeks to help Riyadh without becoming drawn into another military

front itself. Now, last week, it was reported that

MBS appealed to US President Donald Trump and asked him to

order strikes against the Ansar Allah movement in order to stop their

gains on the ground and what he calls the growing threat to

the

kingdom. Now, Trump rejected the appeal

and the demand of

MBS, but US officials made it clear that they would like to provide

intelligence assistance to the Saudis.

I think there is a conspiracy here against Saudi Arabia.

I think that the Americans rejected to support the Saudis

directly and then revealed in the press that the Saudis are

already receiving intelligence assistance from the Israeli side in order

to persuade the Saudis to normalize ties

with Israel. We know that this is a very controversial issue for Saudi

Arabia, and they don't want to normalize ties with

Israel before the recognition

or the establishment of a Palestinian state.

However, the Americans are trying to corner the Saudis and

increase the security pressure on Saudi Arabia in order

to push the kingdom to normalize ties with Israel under such

circumstances where the Saudis are receiving blows from the,

what they call, the Iranian-backed Houthis

or the Iranian-backed

Ansar Allah movement. Therefore, under such circumstances, I think the

Saudis will be faced with two scenarios.

One, to receive assistance from the Americans,

and the Americans are rejecting to

do that. And second, to bring their tacit

and secret relationship,

the ongoing relationship with the Israelis, to the surface and join

the Abraham Accords.
