U.S. Congressman Threatens ICC Over Netanyahu
Did a sitting U.S. congressman really threaten
the International Criminal Court just to keep
Benjamin Netanyahu out of prison?
The answer, of course, is yes.
Congressman Richie Tour has warned the ICC
that if they moved forward with an arrest warrant
against Netanyahu for war crimes,
including using starvation as a method of warfare
and crimes against humanity,
the United States would punish the court,
instead of letting justice take its course.
Torrez used his power in Congress
to shield a foreign leader from facing accountability
for the deliberate starvation of civilians and other atrocities in Gaza.
This isn't just condoning Israel's actions.
The United States government is actively serving as an accessory,
protecting Israeli officials from international law while
Americans pay for it.
The United States has become Israel's means
for escaping accountability,
and it allows them to act with impunity.
We use our veto power to block any ceasefire
they oppose,
protect their officials from international accountability,
and allow Israeli criminals to escape justice by
simply fleeing back to Israel.
