Elon Musk's Impact on Free Speech
Elon Musk saved X by buying it, but he also saved
freedom of speech in Europe by buying it.
So there's no buts, he's a trillionaire or,
or his other faults.
There are billionaires in this world who do nothing to protect freedom of
speech, and in fact, do a lot of bad things to limit it even
further. So I really think that we, we should be incredibly grateful
to him, and I'm a bit more optimistic because
Musk has already been under massive attack from the United...
from the, from the European Union. Obviously, he's already been fined.
X has been fined. He's not paying the fine.
He's fighting it in court, and I trust that he won't pay the fine.
Do we really think that Elon Musk is going to bow down to Ursula von der
Leyen?
I really don't think so, and that's exactly what we need because
these people
here feel like they are invincible.
And it's good that we have in a giant in front
of them to show them that maybe they are not as big as they think they are.
So I, I really want to say thank you because it,
it's true.
I
owe X my, my livelihood and,
and also being able to speak out and making this a success.
The U- Save Europe Act is not a success because of the mainstream
media
at all. I mean, we, we didn't-- we barely had media reports on it.
So it's all through social media, and of course,
it is more so through X than
through any other platform. So I think w- we should be grateful, and I, and I,
I agree with Therese, of course, that the attacks are gonna ramp up.
But if there is one person I think that we can count on in
this fight,
I think it's him. He wouldn't have done it otherwise
if he didn't really care.
I mean, he could do a lot of other things with his
free time.
So yeah, that's my positive note that I'll end on.
