Discussion on US-China Relations and AI
If you're not an accelerationist,
you're anti-American.
If you're not an accelerationist, you're pro-Chinese
Communist Party.
If you're not accelerationist,
you're almost a Luddite. You want to take America back.
Well, let's think about that for a second.
Who are the biggest supporters
of the Chinese Communist Party in this regard?
We're thinking about this the totally wrong way.
Yes, I would like to have some international
agreements with the Chinese Communist
Party. Not that they would ever live up to
anything, particularly on something this
deadly.
I think that would be great.
I also think it doesn't matter. It'll take forever to negotiate.
Here's what we have to do first to slow down the pace
so that we can understand exactly what's going on
and also let them understand that we're not going to let you put a moat
around this. We're not going to let you be a cartel.
We're not going to underwrite the liabilities. You take the upside.
We need time.
And this is not legislation. This is going to have to be executive action.
The legislation is going to be enormously complicated and take a while
just because the technology is complicated, the opportunities
are complicated,
and the bottomless pit, the abyss of the downside is complicated.
So why are we letting
the Chinese Communist Party drive us? Oh, we have to do this or China win.
We have to do this or China win. We have to do this
or China's going to win.
We should quarantine now
every aspect of the ecosystem of
artificial intelligence away from the Chinese Communist Party
today.
We should cut them off of all...
It's the only way you're going to get your hands around and actually think
through with adults
what should be actually the regulatory
apparatus, whether it's an atomic energy commission
or
whatever that apparatus is
that works with these companies
to make sure that things can't escape, to make sure that
people know what's going on. Also,
the financial and liabilities to the American people.
