Critique of Senate Candidate's Policies
Jessica just said it doesn't matter if a guy running for Senate can tell you
how much things are gonna cost. I think that's stupid.
I think he's not that smart.
I asked him, "What's the federal budget?" He couldn't
tell me.
Mm.
I said, "Well, how much is Medicare for All gonna cost us?" He
couldn't tell me.
He- You guys are right. He's a sloganeerist.
He's very surface level. He says things quickly,
and then he gets out at the
commercial break. He says we're bankrupt because of foreign
wars. Well, do you know what we spend on defense each
year?
Greg, I know you didn't look this up, so I did, buddy.
13% of spending goes to the Pentagon.
The rest is all entitlements, Social Security, healthcare, and
servicing the debt. That's what's bankrupting the country.
So as a bankrupt country, he wants to come in and
spend $6 trillion a year on more entitlements,
and he wants to nationalize the healthcare industry.
Not capitalist very much, but that's what he wants to do,
and he doesn't
know how he's gonna do that. I think that's dumb.
I think we expect more from our politicians-
Mm
... than just a banner on a bumper sticker
that says, "Yeah, give me
stuff." Y- you should hold your politicians to a
higher standard too,
Jessica.
