Discussion on Black Identity and Heritage

If you don't see me as a Black person because I'm not African-American,

then you're

just fucking ignorant.

Here we go.

This guy, though he's not the only one, to be fair, thinks that Blackness is

exclusive to African-Americans or to Black Americans,

insinuating that Africans and everybody else throughout the diaspora

is

not Black.

What would you call me, then? Mind you, if I were to-

Wherever you're from

... stand next to an African-American person

right now, and none of us were to

talk, and let's say there was a police officer right there

threatening us with a

pew pew-

Here we go with the white folks

... he and we are both the same. Do you wanna know why?

Good Lord.

Because we look the same. Phenotypically, we are the same.

We literally share, to a large extent, the same heritage.

It's insane.

The same heritage?

And I've also noticed that a lot of you

are treating the word African or the term

African like it's some sort of slur.

Now African is a slur.

When it's not. I'm just so sick of the continued diaspora

wars,

where the Black community-

No

... finds new ways to other each other out.

And by the way-

Y'all other each other on the continent

... I am fully aware that not every single African-American

or Black American-

Black Americans

... thinks this way. Thank God. I know that is very much...

And also, I'm very aware that African-Americans experience their

own

exclusive, different struggles. Very different to our own.

Very different to everybody else throughout the diaspora.

I'm not trying to discredit that whatsoever.

This is just on the basis of this guy and some African-Americans calling

everybody else-

Here we go

... that's Black outside of America not Black.

I literally ask myself the question every day: how embarrassed do y'all

wanna be in life? First of all, you're an African Brit,

which means your family or you fled the land. That is...

Let's get, let's get into that part.

And Black is not exclusive to Africans,

because I could've sworn that y'all were sitting there talking about how

race is only a construct here in America.

Bitch, you're in Britain.

Stay silent. I can't stand it when you guys stay on

stuck on stupid, but then wanna call other people ignorant.

That's externalization. I know it's a bigger word for Elmo.

And let's get one thing fucking clear.

You don't even know the fucking definition to a goddamn diaspora.

There is no diaspora. We are not you, you are not us, and you need to

sit your little ass down. And for the love of God, somebody fucking

help her, because I swear to God she's had those

braids in for at least three

fucking years. That's not something that we do culturally.

Then she wants to sit there and talk about, "Well,

if the police pull us over, and

they all got a pew pew to our heads," and all that stuff.

Why the fuck do y'all continuously try to trauma bond?

It does not happen to you. You know why?

Because you're an African in Britain.

The fact that you said that we share the same,

uh, roots and all that stuff, we actually do not.

We are not the same. You fled, and you come from a family

of fleers. My ancestors, as well as myself, have not fled

from our land.

And no one is using African as a slur.

You guys are using that as a slur.

So you should take that up with your brothers and sisters.

And then, and on top of that, in one breath you say that we

are the same,

we come from the same heritage.

But in the same thing, you contradict yourself and

say that we go through different experiences. Duh, dumbass.

Of course we go through different experiences.

We are literally in different places.

And like I stated, how you guys always say, "Race was

only a thing in America. We don't believe in race." So how the fuck

did y'all know

to call yourselves Black? Black was only a thing here.

It got monetized here, it got worldwide over

here, and it became a fucking fad, bitch, which you like to do.

And I swear to God, if I don't s- I'ma rip that fucking hair out.

I don't know why, but it's pissing me the fuck off,

because God

damn. Like, I cannot deal with that.

See how fucking stupid you sound? You contradict yourself.

You sit there and say we got the same heritage,

which don't embarrass us with your

embarrassing background.

But then say that we have different problems. Duh, dumbass.
