White American Identity and Disconnection From European Heritage

I find in the United States, in this country,

a lot of white Americans don't know

who they are. Because what we gotta remember is

when they hit, hit the eastern

shores when they were being brought here, you know, they were told to be

disconnect from the European world. They were told no longer to be that.

They were told to be this illusion, an American.

There's no American. We're all from somewhere.

We all came from somewhere. And so it's

important that the, uh, American people here touch

base with who they are, because that'll give them back

that sense of identity,

that give them that sense of connecting to the Earth.

But as long as they're living in an illusion way of life, then they're

always gonna be numb and never feel these things.

And that's what I mean about being truthful. Because, you know, I'm...

It's easy for me to say it, because I have a lot of people I've met in

America, I

have a lot of friends, and even when I do my public speakings, you know,

I-

you have a lot of, uh, white Americans take me aside,

and they tell me, uh,

"Mr. Nosey, you know, what you're saying is great

and everything,

but the, the thing that really is, um,

uh... Where we lose you is when you begin to talk about

ancestors. 'Cause you can go back from your grand-

grandfather,

great-grandfather, grandfather, and grandfather.

But with us, we can't do that. Because when we,

when our families hit the shores

of America, we were told to be an

American."
