Analysis of Trump's Views on Ukraine
And what is your instinct of Donald Trump's thinking?
Because obviously we remember the famous bust up in the Oval Office, I think it was
February twenty-twenty four, shortly after Donald Trump returned to the
White House
and Donald Trump famously said to President Zelensky,
"You don't have any cards."
And then in recent months Ukraine's had some military successes with its
drones and Donald Trump sort of thinking that maybe Ukraine actually does have some
cards.
Um-
What do you think is going on in Donald Trump's mind?
He still remains pro-Russian basically.
It's one of these things that we've all been puzzling over.
He went to Moscow in the nineteen eighties when the Soviet Union
still existed and then he spent, you know, tens of thousands of dollars
taking out ads in The New York Times saying that NATO was to
blame for the Cold War standoff and that we shouldn't fund NATO they
were bleeding us dry. So he's been pro-Soviet
and then pro-Russian, you know, for decades and it's a, it's a
strange thing nobody really understands why uh, that happened but
it's a consistent theme. And I don't believe for a minute
that he's become
more sympathetic towards Ukraine.
Uh, he's frustrated because he thought the
Russians would actually defeat Ukraine
and he's unhappy that that hasn't forced them into a settlement
but,
but he's not switched sides
