Life Lessons to Reduce Stress
I'm going to save you years of unnecessary stress.
These things I will say to you now will save you years of unnecessary stress, so
it's better you listen than scroll.
You do not know me and I do not know you.
Whatever I'm going to be saying to you is out of experience.
You see, most of the things that we still suffer from
are what we could have
learned from other people's story, but we choose to act blind to
it and allow it happen to us, and we are still suffering the regret to this
day.
It's better you listen to me, my brother.
I'm going to say three things and get the fuck out of here.
I don't wanna waste your time, so let's get on to it.
These three things pull us backward more than we can ever imagine.
And you need to listen to number three.
It's the most important, so be patient.
Number one, people pleasing. The truth that we are so scared to tell
ourselves is that if we die today, every
single person that depends on us will survive some way, some
how. They don't need you.
They don't need you to survive. You
are the one who sweat your ass out. You are the one who try to put yourself in
the
line. You're the one who kill yourself for every
single person.
You're the one who is doing too much.
Stop pleasing people. Why are we so scared to tell ourselves
the truth? What is it we fear?
People will survive
with or without you. People will make it
out with or without you. People will find a way out with
or without you. People will move on with or
without you. Do what you can, not what
you must.
If it's for yourself,
that is, that is a different case. Not for people.
For people, you do what you can. You don't do what you must.
Stop giving credit to things that disturb your peace and stress you
out.
They are not worth it.
So little bro, people pleasing will break you,
and people pleasing will
definitely kill you. You are the prize. Save yourself.
Take care of yourself. Number two, validation.
This is one thing that will not just hold you back,
but kill you
if you allow it to.
It will slowly kill you. I still question myself, "What is it that
we need from what people have to say?"
But I do not blame us at all because we've buried our self-confidence
in how the world sees us. We've buried our self-belief in h-how
people see us and what they think of us.
We've buried our confidence in approval, in praises,
in applauds, in cheerings. We think how far we can go
depends on what people say and what they think of us.
But you are wrong. How far you can go depends on what you
think of
yourself, idiot. When someone curses you, at the end of
the day, the curse does not come.
It's when you accept it.
You see that point of your life where everything starts to go wrong and you are
accepting it to yourself and saying, "Oh, my life is destroying. What's going on?
Why are things falling apart?"
That is when the devil comes in to make it actually fall apart.
Ninety percent of the things that we worry about in our head,
at the end of the day, they end up not happening.
We suffer more in our imagination than in reality.
Wake up
and stop
seeking for approval. You don't need it.
How far you will go and where you will be tomorrow depends on
what you do today.
Not in people's praises, not in approvals, not in
validation.
If their cheering and praises
build your confidence and keep you going, imagine what their
silence would do to you.
It would be your death.
Hey,
congratulations, my brother.
See how you're developing. You stayed till number three.
Now, listen to me closely.
This is one of the things that we suffer from every single day,
but we just
don't notice it. We pay
less attention to it because we feel it's normal.
I mean, who doesn't enjoy comfort?
On number three, we have procrastination.
You're wondering why I mentioned this one, right?
My bro,
let me take you deep into the meaning of procrastination.
Procrastination is the wife of comfort.
It kills you.
It shrinks your dreams and eats up your
dreams,
and it blinds you from seeing them.
It blinds you from even seeing any reason to pursue your dreams or even put
in effort or even put in work.
It tells you you need peace. Stay in your comfort zone.
You need to relax.
You still have time. It, it blinds you from seeing the truth.
Procrastination make you live more in your imagination than in reality.
You make things happen in your mind, but you don't bring them to reality
and put
them to work. You don't put them to practice.
Every single time, you tell yourself, "I'm going to do it." And when it's
time to do it, you say, "Oh, no, I don't feel like it yet.
I need to do it later.
I need to think more." You don't need to think more.
The point where you feel like it's scary to jump, that is when you jump, my
brother. That is exactly when you jump.
Procrastination will make you not see your full potentials.
It will shrink your dreams until they are small enough for your eyes to
even see.
It will make you not see what you need to do.
Go do what you need to do. I keep saying
this. One year from now, you will look back to the previous three
hundred and
sixty-five days of your life and you will say,
"Thank God I spent my time
doing this." Or you would say, "I wish I spent my time doing this."
Do not live a life of regret.
Go get it done. Go get it done. Now that you know these
things, how are you helping yourself?
What are you doing to help yourself?
Make a difference. Make a difference.
Where you will be tomorrow depends on what you do today.
Make a difference, my brother.
I am not perfect.
I just came to give a message. And thank you for listening to me.
My name is Valentine Obasuyi,
but that doesn't matter. Go get your life fixed.
