Desire to be a Villain in Film

When I was a kid and we used to go to the Saturday matinees and everything like

that, everybody wanted to be,

uh, Buster Crabbe or Flash Gordon or,

you know, Tom Mix or something like that.

I always wanted to be, um,

Ming the Merciless.

I never wanted to be the hero. I always wanted to be the villain.

They lived in more interesting places. They had more interesting lives.
