Discussion on Football and Unemployment in Argentina

I guess we can let the Argentinians just shout a bit.

It's not going to change anything, is it? Here's the thing.

When you've got youth unemployment as high as it is in Argentina,

when you've had inflation in triple figures,

when you've had such difficulties,

I mean, football's all they have.

I like to think that we have some other things going on in our lives. I bet, yeah.

You see the sort of victory

parades down the centre of the cities and all the rest of it.

And it's like, yeah, of course they can do big victory parades.

None of these people have jobs.

I mean, that's literally all they have in their lives is football.

I like to think that in Britain, we've got some other things to celebrate as well.

Well, I still wish we'd won the match last night. Devastating.
