U.S. Relations with Latin America and Israel
It's thrilling to see that we're losing Europe,
and yet Latin America is somehow coming back to us.
But I will caution,
there's a tendency in the Jewish Israel world to overlook Latin America. Yes.
And the fact that we have 12 pro Israel governments, we should not be
wasting any time
in not engaging these new governments and their people in communicating with them,
because there is an information void.
And we also have to take note that the 68 million Hispanics in the United States,
they read and watch what happens back in their home countries every single day.
So what happens in Latin America doesn't stay in Latin America.
It very much bleeds into the Hispanic community in the United States.
And so with this opportunity,
we have a renewed opportunity to communicate with U S.
Latinos, which it's a very
underserved audience in terms of, again, how we communicate with the world.
But this is a great
time to do something positive. Well, like you said, we're losing Europe,
but we have a renewed relationship with 12 countries in Latin America, and
we can't miss that opportunity at all.
And I will say this,
after President Mele of Argentina,
I think the Jewish people in Israel's second favorite Latino is
Marco Rubio. Absolutely.
I mean, and I guess to get a little political now, Lea,
does Marco Rubio have
the support of the Latin community in the United States?
He does. He does, very much so, yes.
So maybe that's a salvation. He's an hermano. No, listen,
he's done amazing in his role as Secretary of State and many other hats that he's
had to play along the way.
But more importantly, he's remained a
steadfast friend of the Jewish people and of Israel, and I think we can't take that
for granted. That's amazing.
Lea Soybel, Fuente Latina,
thank you so much for speaking to us. Thank you.
