Discussion on Religion and Secularism
The problem I have with people who do the sort of like, uh, let's, let's do a deep
dive into the, um, uh, you know, religious
ceremonies or religious texts and whatnot is that they, uh, kind of,
uh, it's... Number one, it lends credence to this, uh,
like fundamentally reactionary idea that anyone who is
a, uh, um, a, a radical, uh, you know,
whether they be like an Islamist or a, a Jewish person, they're doing so, uh,
because of religious war reasons, not because of, of very
real, um, you know, uh, v- very real
secular ideas that, uh, push them into, uh, this kind of,
um, thinking. Like the same people who do like,
"Look into the Talmud and
you'll see what the, the real face of the Jew is." Are...
Uh, it's the same argument as like look into
the Quran to see why, you know, the
Islamist wars-
Well, it's... That, that's my objection to it.
It's the exact mirror image of, of-
Yeah
... you know,
uh, Um- American, Um- American chauvinists who try to justify
American brutality, uh, by, by finding, um,
you know, essential,
universal,
doctrinal, uh, aspects of Islamic practice
or any other group's practice and then generalizing it to everybody.
But anyway.
Right.
Um, and, and also-
You can also do it the other way and go like, "You know, I know a thing
or three
about the Talmud, and it says that you're wrong and I'm right, and-"
Right
"... uh, you're an infidel."
Right. Yeah, yeah, of course. And that's, uh, that's the thing about it in general.
But people, I think, uh, need to realize,
in general, we're talking about a very secular
ideology in Zionism. Whether or not it's attached to Judaism,
uh, I mean, I'm not gonna say it's of not attached to
Ju- of course it's attached
to Judaism, but, uh, you know, in, in, uh-
You, you can attach-
... the same way-
Look, uh-
... a parasite is attached to a fish, you know what I mean?
You can attach the outcome of a football game to Jesus' will. You know?
Right, exactly. Yeah.
Like any- anything post facto-
Mm-hmm
... can be harnessed to motivate and-
Mm-hmm
... justify and explain-
Right
... what's happened by any-
Which is why-
Yeah
... in general, you know, when it comes to, uh, you know, a,
a religion, I, I, I'm,
you know, largely ambivalent. I'm not like pro-religion in, in, in
any sense. But people, uh, I think they obfuscate the very secular
origins of a lot of this, you know, Zionism is settler colonial.
Let's not get into, uh, oh, here, here's what the secret book says
about why the Jews do the things. It's like, it...
'Cause it, 'cause they're doing r- a racist apartheid.
Exactly.
You don't need-
Which, which they learned from Christians.
Yes. I mean, right. And also, you know, it's like, uh, uh, you know, I'm not gonna
say that Christians got that from Christianity.
They got it from fucking feudalism, or they got it from fucking whatever
system of
government that said we need to... Anyways, go ahead.
You're right. You're absolutely right.
