Post-Game Interview with Winning Pitcher

Here we are, the game one winning pitcher, who is very upset I

still haven't worn his shirt yet.

Yep, I got another beer

in a place that it shouldn't be. Uh, what'd you say?

Uh-

Why are you mad?

I think you gotta give-

Hey, you dropped it. You dropped that.

You dropped that one. You dropped it.

I think that should go, that should go on Scooby's head.

He's the guy.

He's the man.

Yeah, yeah, but you're the man. You're the fucking man.

You're the man, Scooby.

Yeah.

You're the guy that everybody loves.

You've only been a-

Dude, that is crazy. What is going on right now? This is crazy.

Come on, Dave.

Scooby.

Do the interview, Dave.

Oh, man. The bullpen dogs are real dogs, Scoob.

The game's speeding up on you right now. It is speeding up on you.

You're right, I gotta slow it down.

What's the question? What's the question?

How much does... How good does the burn

feel, Scoob-o?

It feels really good. What's running down my pants right now

is so cold.

It's because of these fucking guys.

Hey, hey.

We are live.

You gotta open it, Scoob.

Sorry.

You gotta open it.

Hey, wait a minute.

What's up?

Open it.

Check out Dave.

Hey, Scoob.

Scoob-o, I think I got...

Scoob, I think they ran out of the beer. I think we're safe now.

Okay, might be good for, like, five seconds. Go ahead.

Okay.

You got one question, Scoob.

All right. All right, here we go. How much does this team mean to you?

No, it's a great team. I think, I mean, the culture that they have here, um,

the, the preparation, the expectation to win, um, you know,

I love being a part

of it.

You delivered in game one for this team.

I know you're ready to go for game one of the NLCS.

How much is this addicting, the celebrations, the winning,

the team?

Winning is everything in sports. You know, that's why you play the game, is to win.

Um, and if you're not playing the game to win,

then I don't relate with you, you

know? So I, I'm excited to be a part of it.

Um, you know, I don't know when the next one-

I don't know when the next one for me will be, but, uh, you know, I'm excited to

take them on.

All right. Thanks for enduring this and enjoying the celebration together.

This is a great guy. This guy's a great competitor

and a great guy.

Tarik Skubal.
