Decentralizing Education Power to States

Who gets the power?

Who gets to decide? The Constitution tells us where

that power resides.

It says, "The powers not delegated to the United

States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the

States, are reserved to the States respectively,

or to the

people."

That's right. The federal government

gets the powers it's given.

If the Constitution doesn't give it the job,

that power isn't theirs to be driven.

States have their powers, people have theirs, too.

That's the principle the Tenth Amendment makes clear to

me and you. And we are working to return

education to the states, closer to families, closer

to communities. It's really that simple.
