The Matrix and AI Data Centers
Everyone loves The Matrix, but one thing never really made
sense about the film. The machines were using humans as
batteries. That part never held up.
After all, there are better ways to make power.
Nuclear, solar, almost anything else.
But building a whole simulated world just to harvest a little
body heat, well, that seems stupid to some people.
That wasn't the original idea, though.
The original concept was way different.
The machines were using human brains as data
centers. The AI needed more computing power.
It couldn't build enough on its own, so it
used brains instead. It kept everyone in the
simulation so their minds would stay active and keep the
system running. But this concept was so alien in
1999 that the filmmakers were sure people wouldn't
get it, so they changed it to batteries at the
last minute.
Today, that idea isn't so abstract.
They're already building biological data centers in
Singapore, and these data centers are using
human brain tissue to process and store all the data.
Now, in the movie, you can see that the agents will do
anything to protect the illusion. They kill.
They rewrite people. They erase evidence.
Whatever it takes to keep the system running.
Today, tech billionaires and elected officials are acting
like these agents. Their motto is simple: keep
building the data centers. Don't slow down AI.
Treat any pushback as a threat. They're
protecting the expansion the same way the
agents protected the Matrix. So here's what you need to
ask. Are you heading toward a simulation, or
are you already in it?
