Confession and Spiritual Liberation
When people go to confession, if they confess the particular sin
that the demon
has a hold on them,
when the priest gives absolution, the legal binding
force of the sin over the individual is
absolved. That's why Christ said, "Whoever's sins you retain, they shall be
retained, and whoever's sins you forgive, they shall be forgiven." So when they go
to confession, what it does is, is that it breaks the legal
bond that the demon has in relationship to the person by the absolution of
the priest. And so we've actually had people liberated
from possession just
by going through, by going to confession and absol-- uh,
giving them absolution.
We've also had cases where it protracts, and we can't seem to get the demon out,
and then eventually you'll get out of a demon, "What is keeping
you here?" And they'll say, "It's this one unconfessed sin over
there." And
so the person's like, "I totally forgot about that." They go to
confession, and
they-- the-- once the priest gives absolution, boom,
then they're freed.
