Discussion on Canada's Economic Challenges
with Donald Trump himself. I think this is the last thing
America needs, it's the last thing the world needs,
and I think it's a real shame.
Well, it's really the last thing Canada needs,
um, more than anything, uh,
Chrystia. And, and y- I- I'm...
I know that it's kind of a badge of honor that, that, uh, Carney over in Davos
talked about cozying up with China and a new world order.
Uh, I don't know how you do that with a, one of the most repressive, uh,
regimes in, in terms of human rights in the world.
Here's the... Just, just look at this, and, and this is shocking to me.
Uh, GDP growth in Canada over the last 10
years, you're dead
last, basically, with OECD countries.
You're at .5%. Um, United States was
20.7%. I think we, uh, we can look at this.
I mean, dead la- A- and it's not just the last 10 years.
The OC- ECD is pr- it, it's, it's not gonna get any better.
It's gonna get much worse. Between 2020 and 2030, you're
dead last, uh, uh, projected to be out of the OECD's
38 members, tied with Italy at 46% below
the OECD average. And then the next 30 years after that,
dead
last again. What, what went wrong?
I mean, you, you know the inner workings of, of Canada.
Is it, uh, you know, is it regulation? Is it permitting?
Is it high taxes? Is it... The Canadian people deserve to have a
better standard of living. It shouldn't be going down over a 10-year
period.
