Discussion on Homelessness and Drug Policy
What do you think about Portland?
I think it's marvelous. I, uh, the diversity, the
seeing everyone, the homeless living outside.
In New Zealand, no one is homeless.
If you're homeless, they pick you up and put you in an apartment right away.
And, um, I know that because I hired someone from
New
Zealand and, um, so they were very, very
surprised. But here, I don't think homeless should be
a crime, but I think they should all have tents and
sleeping, good sleeping bags if they have to sleep in the snow,
and they have to be taken care of because that's what
God and Jesus, and it's on our dollar bill, "In
God we trust."
What should the United States do to try to combat the fentanyl crisis here?
Should they allow people to use drugs openly here in the streets of America?
Um, I think that, um, we have to be taught as young
children how to use drugs. We've used drugs since we've
been cavemen. So if we don't start teaching the Indian
way, where we have them at 12 years old going
out in the wilderness or
doing whatever, doing quests, vision quests, and taking
drugs that way, we are gonna end up taking drugs the
way we are and it's not working. So why don't we
teach our children the spiritual way?
And I would say that the Native Americans had that.
Did you ever do meth?
Uh, no. No, no, no. I did try-
It's on your second face
... cocaine, but I never liked it, thank God.
How old were you when you started doing hard drugs like
cocaine?
Not, I didn't do hard drugs.
Okay.
Little marijuana, a little LSD, but that was it.
Okay.
Anyway-
And so you think kids should start doing drugs at 12 years old?
No, I think, I think you got it wrong. See, that's how you do it.
You misinterpret. I said we need to teach children the
spiritual way to take drugs so that they're not gonna just say,
"Okay, I'm gonna do it on my own," which is what they're doing.
They go to school, and apparently they allow them to sell
drugs, you know, the, the grown-ups or whatever,
and, and that shouldn't be. So if you teach your children right
from the beginning, wherever it is, like the N- Native American
culture, study that, find out when they started
inducing that.
Kevin, should people be starting to use drugs at
12?
Absolutely not. She is absolutely delusional.
That is completely insane. She is a very,
very good example of someone who's just completely,
uh, void of reality, right? Suggesting that we
educate our children to use drugs, that's completely insane.
She also said give everyone a tent, a tarp, and a sleeping bag.
A person will never get their needs met on the streets, right?
To be honest, she's the kind of person that's part of
the problem.
I'm all about the spirituality thing, I think that's great, but don't include
drugs. And by the way, what the hell is spiritual about
fentanyl, crack, and meth? Give me a break.
Do you think there's a lot more people here in Portland
that also share those same
beliefs as that lady as far as, like, the compassion towards the drug
addiction and the-
Sure. I mean, why, why do you think we keep voting
the same way? Why do you think we decriminalized drugs?
We're the first state in the union to decrim- decrim drugs, which led to the
largest increase of overdose and deaths in state history.
So yeah, we have a very pro-drug community.
She just has, uh, these ideas in her head
and always looks a little bit up, so she
can't actually see people dying below us, right?
I mean, that's just obscene
