Legal Rights and Resistance in Palestine
Hey hi hello and welcome back to class. I'm the History Wizard and I have a master's
degree in Holocaust and Genocide Studies. This is just your periodic and unfriendly
reminder that according to the UN Charter of 1948,
UN General Assembly Resolution 2625 from 1970, Protocol 1, a 1977 amendment to
the 1949 Geneva Convention,
UN General Assembly Resolution 37 slash 43 from 1982,
and UN General Assembly Resolution 38 slash 17 from 1983,
the people of Palestine have the legal right to resist the occupation,
apartheid, and genocide they are currently facing using any and all means at
their disposal, including violent armed resistance.
And under these same laws and statutes, Israel, as the occupying power,
has no legal right to self defense.
You don't have to like or approve
of Hamas or every single thing that they've done to resist this genocide,
but you have no right to dictate how they resist it.
So either support the resistance to this genocide or sit down and shut
the fuck up.
And as always, have a day.
