Iranian Voices Against Regime Oppression
Iranian people don't want foreign war. Iranian people want peace and democracy.
Today is the first time in the history of the United Nations that the president of
a country the United States is at war with,
has come to New York to address the
assembly. And thousands of people gathered just a
few hundred feet away from the
United Nations building to protest against the current Iranian regime.
I think it's a disgrace to America that we're allowing a terrorist into our
country that has massacred thousands and thousands of
people, um, of their own people, and that we're
having the audacity to negotiate with a murderer.
The real war is between the people of Iran and this tyrannical
regime. Iranian people are willing to pay the price to end
this regime.
I feel it's important for us to come here and be the voice of the voiceless, be the
voice of the Iranian people who are fighting against this regime every
day.
Representative of the Iranian people is the Iranian Resistance, and
the people of Iran are their own representatives,
not this regime.
My father was a political prisoner.
He was arrested by the Iranian regime for starting a newspaper.
Spent
time in prison under torture and trauma.
My father's story is what inspires me to come here and,
uh, support the Iranian people and be their voice.
We want-
Iranians to be able to have a say in how they want to live their lives, how
they want to practice religion, and without the
consequences of being killed or being murdered on the streets of Iran.
We have freedom here in America, and we have the power to unite
and make a difference in this resistance.
This Iran does not represent the people of Iran.
It only represents the regime of murder, terror,
and chaos. And that's why I feel that
the world leaders must realize that there is another
Iran, the real Iran, uh, that is not represented by
a repressive regime that dominates all the resources
and the whole
country, but rather by the vast majority of Iranian
population who want change, who want freedom, who want peace,
who want an end to terrorism, and who want to live in
coexistence with the outside world
