Celebrating Spain's World Cup Victory
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Hall of World Champions.
These are the very halls where champions walked for all of June.
And this is the very
building where this city witnessed Spain bring home that World Cup trophy and add
what will be a second star to this logo.
A star that will forever be tied to this scenic city.
Super emotional for me because since day one I've supported them. They were my team.
I made a deep connection.
I was able to see them arrive here on their first day.
I was able to be part of their send offs.
Not only did I grow up watching the World Cup,
but to be able to support a team that's here in Chattanooga.
that stayed in Chattanooga.
They fell in love with Chattanooga.
And I fell in love with the team.
Great players and now their champions.
Boy, the boys who called Chattanooga home had to work for this one.
Despite completely owning possession,
Argentina and Spain were scoreless until extra time.
The 106 minute Ferran Torres became a hero.
And so for the first time since 2010, and just the second time ever,
Argentina and Spain are world champions. This means a lot to us.
I mean, being the home of the World Cup champions is just amazing.
It was just a complete whirlwind of emotions and we laughed and we cried and wow.
I don't think I can fully explain it.
Our dream, our second start, we need all of you cheering Vamos España.
To prove that we can host a team that's championship, it's fantastic.
It's unreal and I'm happy that the team actually won and
I'm sure for all of us here, it's a big moment here.
To be able to relive this moment with my family, with my parents,
with my girls, incredible,
special and knowing that Spain was here in Chattanooga, this was their home and
to see them in New York, be champions, amazing.
They came in with open arms and just greeted us and they were so amazingly kind
and we had an instant family bond.
I just honestly feel
like some of this is a fever dream. dream. Like is this this is so amazing. Like
this is a once in a lifetime opportunity
that I honestly can't believe any of us are a part of.
They landed here and they're going off as champions.
If you want to be champions, come here, land in Chattanooga, come here,
make us your base and we'll show you the best hospitality.
This was a day this city will never forget as we are a part of a world
champion story.
Now that we hope that some
of those world champions maybe one day make it back here to this city,
a city that meant so much to them on their world championship run.
But here from the embassy suites, the base camp in
downtown Chattanooga of the world champion spanish national team.
I'm big Will Levinson.
