Genocide Against Christians in the Soviet Union

Did you know that there was a genocide against Christians

that almost no one talks

about? Let me explain. After the Bolshevik Revolution in nineteen

seventeen, the Soviet Union under Lenin

and Stalin carried out a

brutal campaign against Christianity that lasted for over seventy

years. Many of the leading Bolshevik figures

were of Jewish origin,

including Leon Trotsky, Grigory Zinoviev, Lev

Kamenev, and Yakov Sverdlov. Under their rule,

over one hundred thousand priests, bishops, and monks were

executed or died in gulags. In total, historians

estimate that between twelve to twenty million Christians were killed through

executions, engineered famines like the Holodomor,

mass

deportations, and religious persecution.

Thousands of churches were destroyed, and faith was declared an enemy of

the state. While Jews made up only a small percentage

of Russia's

population, they were significantly over-represented in the

early

Bolshevik leadership. This anti-Christian repression continued

from nineteen

seventeen until the fall of the Soviet Union in nineteen

ninety-one. Despite its massive scale, it remains one of the

least discussed atrocities of the twentieth century.

What do you think? Why is this chapter often ignored?
