The Role of Risk in Success
I'm a multimillionaire. I have made so much money,
and I'm gonna tell
you something that people don't realize about people who make a lot of money.
First of all,
it's midnight when I'm making this video.
I've decided to make a video to educate you for free.
I don't want anything in return, and I wonder if you've got the time to
watch it.
I wonder if you'll take the time to learn from the people that have actually done
it. And here's the thing, a lot of people tell you, the harder you
work, the luckier you get. It's a lie.
Now, I started work at 5:00 AM today, so you could argue it's now midnight.
I'm on here talking to you. I work quite hard, right?
But that's not why I'm successful.
Working hard is just one ingredient, but it's actually not the key to
success, and the thing that is a key to success will kind of shock
you.
It's simple. You're successful when you take risk.
So it's not the harder you work, the luckier you get because actually,
working hard
has more to do with burnout and failure than any other thing, right?
It's nothing to do with hard work. The secret is, the more
risk you take, the luckier you get. Today, I took a risk.
I did something crazy. I went on live TV for three hours
when I'm not
used to it. I was scared. I was up at 5:00 AM. I researched.
So fear turned into preparation. Preparation took a form of
execution. I did the thing I was scared to do. I took a risk.
That's it.
Take one risk a day, and you'll be successful, too.
And it's not really about being rich.
Success is what you define it to be, and for me, it's
being able to help you learn to do what you love.
And even if I have to work at midnight to do it, I'll do it 'cause I don't mind
working hard. But risk will be the- what leads me to success,
not working hard.
Do you agree? I'd love to hear. X, do you agree?
